Barbeque 2007On September 16, 2007, members of the local communities and United Methodist churches from eastern Nebraska celebrated and raised funds at another successful barbeque. 1022 plates of BBQ pork and grilled chicken were served on a beautiful day featuring lots of fun activities, great fellowship, and delicious food. Available activities ranged from a quilt auction to a silent auction to engaging entertainment provided by a local drum band called Sheltered Reality. Games, face painting, picking pumpkins, pumpkin painted, bouncers, hayrack rides, a petting barn, tree climbing, archery, and a new 10 acre corn maze taking close to an hour to solve made it difficult to experience everything in an afternoon. There truly was something for everyone. Over $13,000 was raised to help support the operations and mission of Camp Fontanelle. With support through the BBQ, the camp has a good springboard for continuing “intentional Christian community” helping summer campers to grow in their faith and provides all groups “a place to grow in all seasons” of spiritual maturity and life. Please join us on September 21, 2008 for another great day of community and fun. Worship begins at 11 am followed by food and festivities for the rest of the afternoon. Your generosity at this free will event was greatly appreciated.
