Camp Fontanelle Purchases 9 acre Farm and Hires Assistant Manager

Camp Fontanelle is looking to the future in their December 20, 2007closing and purchase of a 9 acre farmstead just 1/4 mile south of thecurrent entrance to the camp. The farm has an established windbreakincluding 2-3 foot diameter pin oaks by the house where the newassistant manager andfamily will reside. The farm also features a 10 year old stablewhich is 30' x 30' and has a small indoor riding arena. An older butnewly resided 50' x 50' horse barn will accomodate future storage andprogramming as well. A 4 car garage and a chicken house are also onthe farm along with 6 acres of farm land. Plans to developprogramming are still being discussed.

Derek Bergman accepted the position of assistant manager on January3rd and will assume full time responsibilities beginning March 1st. Derek originally from Elkhorn, along with his wife Amy(Rahfeldt)originally from Norfolk, have strong ties to the camphaving worked on summer staff through the years. Derek also workedon staff at Camp Carol Joy Holling for a summer and is bringingmanagement experience from his current position at Mosaic. Derek andAmy have a daughter, Tava, who will turn 1 in July.
