The overall men’s champion was 16 year old Mason Brown of Fremont with an impressive winning time of 19:19 while the women’s defending champion was 16 year old Suzie Huhman also of Columbus with a time of 26:24. The scenic course was endorsed by many as the most beautiful (and quite challenging) of all 5k courses with plans to return in 2012. A spaghetti meal was enjoyed afterwards by 120 participants and fans. Worship around a campfire at the Amphitheater followed supper and was led by Pastor Jason Kennedy of Bellevue St. James UMC. Reports of witches, mad scientists, green aliens, giant cardinals, a hippie, and jokers among other costumed characters were confirmed.
